Fox Around the Night: a world where you can see whatever spirits you believe in. Mob Psycho meets Avatar: The Last Airbender in this modern day coming of age when Eileen, a poster middle child who’s only ever coasted through life doing what her parents wanted, is forced to make her own decisions once an overdramatic fox spirit starts haunting her.

Fox Around the Night is an original animated series about a teenage rookie spirit hunter, Eileen, haunted by an overdramatic fox spirit, Lingye, who insists on mentoring her to become a master spirit hunter. The existence of the supernatural is no secret: you see what you believe in. The government funds a vast network of spirit-hunting organizations, a branch for every exorcism technique, to ensure humans and spirits live in harmony. This series will follow a fictional form of Chinese exorcism heavily influenced by Chinese xianxia concepts of cultivating spiritual energy, but set in the modern day American perspective of individualism.Eileen attends a prestigious urban prep school by day and takes on supernatural assignments by night. In the pilot, Eileen, along with her teammates Kyle and Megan, are tasked with hunting a toxic spirit silkworm leaking poison inside a small apartment building. As Eileen focuses on doing her part as a spirit hunter, cracks begin to show in other parts of her life: her slipping grades and her drifting childhood friend, Laura.

EILEEN CHAN

Though Eileen dawns a serious and stubborn image, in truth she is easily swayed by others. Having followed the set path laid out by her parents since birth, she is not one to hold much personal ambition. That is, until she is unable to get an annoying fox to leave her alone and for once makes a decision for herself: she must take matters into her own hands by becoming a spirit hunter.

灵烨 • LINGYE

Lingye presents themselves in a flourish⎯⎯a shapeshifter that dresses new characters to suit their audience. Though they are a natural performer bound to draw eyes, Lingye keeps their own gaze hidden; it’s hard to tell where their true intentions lie. One mustn't reveal their cards afterall, and the same goes for a fox and their tails.

KYLE SUN

With the look of an icy prince, Kyle plays his role as the bearer of responsibility. He displays an impressive range of skill and knowledge for his age, drilled into him as “talent” since childhood. As expected, he’s always prepared for anything… right? But under that pristine polish is an emotional boy who just wants to dance.

MEGAN CHEUNG

Megan roars with energy and needs a place to expend it, hence the spirit hunting gig. Though she may be rambunctious, don’t underestimate her skills nor her emotional intelligence. Professionalism comes as naturally as her charisma, but if there’s the freedom to have fun, why not go with a bang?

LAURA WU

Laura’s eyes peer deeply like empty voids holding concealed multitudes. She was once Eileen's closest friend, but that Laura was different: her eyes twinkled. Now reborn, her past life is barely an afterthought. Her eyes look straight ahead, consumed by her art⎯⎯her overwhelming ambition.
